A Tale of Worlds - Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Days went by before they were ready to attack the castle. Leon’s powers seemed to calm down, and no one got shocked.

Mark was still imprisoned, and he wasn’t happy about it. Throughout the camp, you could hear his loud protests.

Madison was allowed to start walking around again. It hurt to walk but at least she could. Her right arm had a cast and a sling on it and she had to walk with crutches. She couldn’t go on the invasion because her state. She told Leon she could but Leon told her that she must stay at camp.

The day before they were to attack the castle Madison went with Eon to talk to Mark, and see if they could get anything else out of him.

As they neared the prison, they could hear Mark yelling: “REALESE ME AT ONCE!”

When they got inside Madison yelled over Mark’s protests: “SHUT UP!”

Mark stopped, “Well, well, if isn’t is Madison.—“

Madison put up her left hand, “Enough. I haven’t come here to talk about your feelings, Mark. We’re here because we need more information.”

Mark sat down in a chair and propped his feet on a table. “Well, sorry, but I’m going to tell you anything.”

“I advise that you do.” Eon said, only eleven, but could scare almost anyone.

“Or what?”

Madison was tired of his English accent always making her feel hooey gooey inside. She didn’t like him. “Unless you want us to tell King Luther that you gave away his big plan, I advise that you tell us what we want to know.” Madison said smirking.

Mark’s eyes got wide. He didn’t want the king to find out; he’d do something really bad to him.

“What do you want to know?” He said, trying to pull himself together.

“We want to know, where are the weak spots in the castle.” Eon said leaning in close to the bars of the cell.

Mark hesitated. “There’s one on the right side, near the stable and one on the left, by the king’s bedroom. Is that all?”

“Yes, thank you. And if those aren’t the right spots, we’ll tell the king.” Madison said, walking out.

When they got outside, Eon said: “Smooth.”

Madison smiled. “Thanks.”
